According to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme, it is estimated that approximately 2 million people in rural and urban areas will be food insecure between July and September 2009. That number is expected to rise to 3.8 million between October and peaking to about 5.1 million at the height of the hungry season between January and March 2009.
Also, there are approximately 218 million child labourers around the world, according to the ILO’s (International Labour Organization) International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour.
